what happened during the opium wars? It was a war. With china and the British. Because they wouldnt stop selling drugs, in the country.

why are they called the opium wars? Because it was the first drug war.

who won and why? The British won. They won because they came unexpected, so china had no time to get ready, and the Bristish had higher technology.

What were some of the hardships that Europeans faced as they explored africa? The long walks across the deserts .. sometimes they lose water supplize because theres no water for a very long time. The hard walks too, they have no shoes walking across rocks. Mountains too! Climbing, its very hard to do with stuff on there backs or holding something and watching your balance at the same time.

Why is it strange that the source of the Nile River, (Lake Victoria - the third largest lake in the world) is named after a British Queen?

What was the primary technological advantage that Europeans had over African people? GUNS!!

Why were Europeans eventually able to conquer Africa so easily? The african's had spears and the eurpeans had guns.

what exactly is cummunism?
Cummunism is something like everything is equal. No matter what you do. you could be rich or be poor but cummunism is almost like the word common. Because at the end neither will be poor or rich you will be the same. No landowners, no bosses, no government. Nothing will be higher than something else. If your a doctor or a lawyer or a cash register you will all get paid the same amount {Lazy or hard working}. Nothing will be over something else.

why did Marx want cummunism to take over the world?
He thought that there was no need for landowners or bosses. He thought it was unfair for someone to get paid higher than someone else. He thought the world would be a better place with cummunism.

who did he see as the good guys, and who did he see as the bad guys? Explain.
Good guys: the workers... because they did everything while the
Bad guys: the bosses and landowners did nothing and got paid more.

explain how karl marx felt about the industrial revolution did he like it or not? Explain why.

"NO" Marx thought that it was insafe and harsh. He also thought in some ways religion control workers. He said "historians of religion used the word fetish to describe something made by people, which people believed had power over them". In that case he didnt believe in anything. He thought that the workers instead of the landlords should own the factories and farms.

how did it inspire marx to invent Cummunism?

Because Marx thought the Industrial Revolution was unfare (thought that workers would control the government). He started Cummunism (a word formed for common). He said "religion is opiate of the people" Opium is a drug. He started Cummunism which soon afte he passed away formed the basis of the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. Mongolia was the second in 1921. Which soon had mant other countries start too.

Nationalism-is the beliefs that one persons loyalty should not be in a king or a palace/empire. It should be in a group of people that share a common belief or history that may or may not be true.

Why ia Simon Bolivar famous, and why is his named after a country- Bolivar helped Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Bolva, and Peru to the indepandance for Veneszuela in1821. He is known as the "liberator of Soouth America".
Who did he help defeat and what was he fighting for-he was fighting for the Latin American's. They wanted freedom, liberty, equality deal that the Americans and French fought for. And he wanted the same (revolution and independance).
I think when he was in Spain in1804 with his totur and friend, Sumon Rodriquez. He had lost his respect for Napoleon, which he says betrayed the repubilican ideals. Then when Bolvar was in Italy he made that famous vow atop Mount Aventin of Rome to never rest until America was Free.

why did the Reign of Terror happen/and max robespierre's inolvement in it-period of violence that occurredd in months after the french revolution. Executions of "enemies of the revolution". Many were killed 20,000 to 40,000. The Enlightenment thinkers brought to life the ideas of freedom, and equality. The middle class and the poor had more power than before. The King, Queen lost power, those that gained power didnt always use it well. The revolution would turn into the Reign of Terror. Committee of Public Safety was created (Apr. 6, 1793) to preserve the reforms of the french revolutions. Robespierre became the dominant member. Their aim was to raise new armies, and to assure food supplies for the armies and cities. Robesierre's took control of the goverenment, and ruled france [like a dictator]. His rule was called the Reign of Terror. He killed Louis XVI , and the queen Marie Antoinette. "On her way across the guillotine, as she accidentally stepped on her executioners foot, she apologized; "Monsieur ... I beg your pardon. I did not do it on purpose". Those were her last words." People grew tired of Robespierre cutting peoples head off. People who worked in the government did not feel safe, they thought their head might be the next to go. So people organized a plan against Robespierre. He was arrested and his head was cut off. The Reign of Terror was over. France settled down with a government that they trusted. There was finally some stability.
how were these actions carried out-The Law of Suspects (Sept. 17, 1793) arrested alot of people for “treasonable” activities. All the moves were made by the Revolutionary Tribunal. Estimates over 200,000 were arrested.

Heliocentric and Geocentric

Heliocentricsm is a theory that says the sun is the at the center of the solar system. It was said distinction between the solar system was not clear until the modern times. Aristarchus had mentioned that the Earth moved around the sun. But many people did not speak afraid that if they did, because of blasphamy and the church that it may have lead to execution. My Explainsion of The Scientific Revolutin

Many years ago many people believed that the planets revoled around the earth. People got there idea's about science from the bible or Romans and the Greeks, and this was before the 1500. Scientist thought different and started to study and try experiements. A man named Aristotle had a thought that if objects had different weights they fell in different speeds, and many people believed that. Until a man named "Galileo" came along and tested the theory in Leaning Towers in Pisa, and provin Aristole wrong. That if you drop a bowling bowl and a golf ball out a window they will fall at the same speed. Another man named Issac Newton also provin Aristole wrong by the laws of gravity.

Darwin's Theory of Evolution

Creationism

Creation is a religious believe like God or a word we say to explain it a little bit it (christainity) basically saying that we believe that a god made everything we live on today. As in "the earth, people, animals, and many more things", and the story is explain in the bible. The first chapter and it is called "Genesis". In veryous details explaing days 1, 2, 3 until day 7, how God Created earth and man in 7 days.

My thoughts about Creation and Darwin's Theory of Evolution

I live in a Christain house hold, that maybe the reason that i believe in god and that he created the world and many other things, but for now Darwin's theory of Evolution doesnt make that much sence to me. I think that the Creation of the world we live in today was created by god. I believe that in 7 days god created earth, man, woman and animals. I believe in the bible.
